When most people think of a board game one thing comes to mind: Monopoly. Monopoly is a wildly famous board game that focuses on acquiring properties, developing them, and ultimately creating monopolies on various markets. It is a capitalist's dream game and has continued to delight and enrage people everywhere since 1935. As with many popular things, in order to keep up with the times Monopoly has had a bit of a digital make-over and currently is available for PC as well as mobile platforms.

This new and improved digital version of Monopoly focuses on the same exact principles as the original the game. Players choose their gaming piece, begin moving around the board by rolling dice, cross their fingers that they don't end up in jail, and pass go and collect the two hundred dollars. Unlike the original, this version doesn't require finding other family members or friends to play against and allows players to play against a CPU instead. The game has colorful and bright graphics and custom background music to enhance gameplay.

Monopoly is currently available for Windows ME, Windows 98 SE, Windows 2000, Windows 98, and Windows XP. It is available for Mac operating systems as well and also runs on mobile Android and Apple devices. It is currently only offered in English but players familiar with the game will not require much help navigating the game regardless of their native language.

While Monopoly uses a lot of nostalgia to get users to continue to play, it also lacks some more modern features. Some of the graphics can get laggy from time to time and can slow down the computer. It also has a quite large download size which should be noted before attempting to download.

Overall, it is a fun and unique look at the classic game. It makes for a great way to pass an afternoon but lacks some of the modern graphics or functionality to make it a perfect game. This game is definitely geared towards the Monopoly lovers.
